Well once in a while my brain starts working overtime and I've been thinking lately about spirit guides, especially those who often refer to guardian angels and spirits, and also who believe we have an allotted time on earth, in other words we pass over when we are meant to pass over.
If this is the is case, if we are meant leave our physical bodies at a given time then surely guardian angels and spirits are pointless since they are said supposedly to protect our physical selves from any harm in the first place.
If we are meant to pass at a given time then that would surely undo the need for such guardians, and if we do have guardians then surely we do not pass at a give time. So what do you think?

Hmmmm!!! before I answer this do you mean our doorkeepers or just angel guardians like Gabriel etc... sorry just need to understand properly before I start answering in case my answer is just waffle  cos I didn't get your meaning right.Mainly because I have different opinions on doorkeepers and angels you know me always awkward

| No I dont mean doorkeepers/gatekeepers, I literally meant those spirit beings who are said to protect our physical selves from psychical harm, such as accidents & murders etc, basically anything that that could threaten a persons life. Since if our life is mapped and physical death is mapped then the theory doesn't hold up

I have to say I have never truly believed that angels would be terribly interested in our rather mundane lives and cannot see why people would believe that such highly evolved spiritual beings would be constantly willing to help and assist us in tasks which frankly are not of huge importance to them in the grand scheme of things.So in my opinion angels would not interfere in something which to them is minor really e.g. whether we stumble off a cliff in the mist etc... but relatives (spirit) might intervene to the extent that they would rather we lived what is meant to be of our lives without horrendous physical damage or emotional trauma from an attack,fire,war etc...
I do also believe that not all of our lives are mapped out and events can change because of what you do or don't do and I also believe that you can have a choice at times of when you wish to pass (albeit unconscious) through what you do or don't do during your life and therefore spirit helping you would then become fairly reasonable.I also think spirit helping with more minor things is quite reasonable too but other than this I really am not certain what to answer.
I don't think that anything is ever as straightforward or simple as our beliefs,opinions or thoughts would have us wish for unfortunately and in truth we know so little of spiritual things really that in all honesty I can only say that these are my thoughts on the matter at this time but experience or knowledge gained could easily change them.The only thing I can say I have always believed is that angels would not be willing to help us in the manner that we as people think they do that to me is just wishful thinking on peoples parts to make life feel easier for them or to take some small bit of responsibility of their shoulders which is fair enough if that helps them.Belief has seen people through some horrendous things and that has got to be good.

theoldwitch I agree pretty much 100% with what you say, sometimes you read something which starts you thinking, thinking in terms that what youve just read contradicts itself, thus it cant be totally true, its either one or the other

| Well, death is not really 'coming to harm." It is something natural that has to happen. So, I think all these guardian angels and spirits and others protect us from harm before that. The earth if you look at it closely is a dangerous place to be in. So, if you are short of money or if you are just about to be mugged, your spirit guide might help you out. Although he/she won't stop you from dying.

| I think that although our Guardian Angels know when your time of death is meant to be, many of us have near misses – for instance car accidents etc. And these are the events that they are protecting us from because those incidents are not our time to pass over. Its not until it is out time to pass that they don’t intervene
