megamaniac.
i believe in what i do which is medium readings that is my religeon i dont believe that any religeon anywhere in the word, doesnt have some part of spiritulism in it, i dont believe in jehovas wittneses to me they take passages that they want to follow which is up to them , just as long as they dont try to convert me into it, which is what they do, they will have a long wait if they think i will follow in what they believe, im ny opinion people who try to convert you into believing in what they believe are not very sure of the religeon themselves, my nain had a saying which was i dont go to chapel but i say my prayers, that makes me a christian and its true. if you are commfortable and believe in what you are doing go ahead and carry on the only person you have to be true too is yourself, if your friend doesnt believe that is his choice , we all have free will.
take care

mega
I had to reply and say my piece because sometimes I have to debate on this topic too!!!
I was christened Roman Catholic - and everything I do is against their religion. When I was young, I was made to go to sunday school and have my sacraments but when that passed, I never had to enter a church again!! (i have only for weddings and funerals). I then learned that my family were not practising Catholics either - I was made to do it for learning reasons.
As I got older, the more I am against the church - hearing about abuse and such that just turned me off. They think they're doing 'God's work' but in fact, its the human work - its a business and making money out of people (suckers). I believe in God, not the church!!!
I say that because religion was created to prey on poor, uneducated people. These people believed everything the church would say and they obeyed. People are becoming more intellegent and there are less people going to church today than ever before.
There is nothing wrong with religion on an educational point of view, but when it turns into a 'cult' thing, thats when i put my hand up and say 'stop, I don't want to know'. All of us need to look deep into ourselves and find our faith - our faith is not in the church, but in our hearts. I say that people who are 'devoted' to the church, are people who cannot come up with their own belief system and has to follow someone elses - hence the herd of sheep - there's no leader, they just follow each other!
I can advise you to read the books Conversations with God by Donald Neale - these 3 books are conversations Donald had with God via automatic writing and are a fabulous read - God says some things about the church himself - can't remember if its book 2 or 3 but read them - they're a real eye opener and you will come to your own conclusion about your belief system but I think you already have found it - your friend shouldn't be picking on you because of it.
Listen to your Heart.

Might be a good idea if we all started wearing bells around our necks and have someone walking in front shouting "unclean, unclean".

My friend just says he is concerned about me, and pointed out that he wouldn't be a true friend if he said nothing. The thing is he knows nothing about spiritualism, he doesn't believe in spirits, but as already pointed out he worships one! I believe in god but I also believe in the afterlife, and I know I am being shown the truth now, and I am driven to read all the arguments I can on my new found beliefs. I have tried searching for EX spiritualists who say they made a mistake, but I can't find any! So either there aren't any or they don't use the internet lol. I am reading a book at the moment called The complete idiots guide to communicating with spirits (ISBN 0-02-864350-X) and ok the title is a bit of a laugh, but it is actually a good read. I won't be lending it to my friend afterwards however

Mega I have in laws who are witnesses and one Christmas they give me one of there books "in the spirit of the season" as they don't celebrate Xmas. Felt it was only fair that i returned the favour next year . If you have ever seen a movie with someone holding a UXB then it will give you some idea how that went down. Also wanted to do something similar to the people you bought our house, again witness people who tried to screw us for £10.000 once they knew that we were commited to moving into a adapted council house.Very christian. Wanted to leave voodoo dolls and all sorts of weird stuff to freak them out but the wife wouldn't let me. Did leave a huge pic from the Omen pinned up behind a door in a dark corner were i had took the bulb out. Childish i know but they started it.

Hi Everyone. Megga, Like libran5 i was also brought up a catholic, went to church and a catholic school . I believe in jesus christ . I have followed my heart.I believe in the divine and i also believe that there is a devil.Good and Evil.many people condem spiritulism because of lack of knowledge and also im amazed at how many people think that we are devil worshipers. This of course is soooooooooo not true. I was not bullied or brainwashed in to what i believe in.I believe in treating people as i would like to be treated. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs.I feel that if all humanity were more spiritual the world would be such a happier place to live in. I also believe that we would be nieve in thinking that we are the only living planet in the whole universe. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to spread alittle light whilst im living on this planet and plane. wow what an in depth topic i could go on and on about this topic. love and light to all.xxx

Hi all,
I was brought up Roman Catholic too. I remember getting told off by a priest once for wearing a pendant with my star sign on .... I didnt know until then that catholics werent supposed to believe in all this 'stuff' lol . I stopped going to church when I got older, not because I didnt believe, I do, but because I grew more spiritual and believed that I was a good person, didnt do wrong and that God was everywhere. Why would it make me a better person to go to church once a week. Surely it was testament to my faith that I believed every day and not 'pretend' every Sunday. It spilled over to different areas of my life too, the older I got and more spiritual, I started to wonder why I had to go to cemeteries to pay my respects to family and friends that had passed. Why? , I didnt believe they were there, just the outer shell..... where they really were was in my heart, all around me, with me...... I go every now and again but I dont make it a pilgrimage. I spend so much time talking to my family that has passed, they are a part of my everyday life still, lots of people think im insane , but I dont mind, I know what i believe in and whats right for me. I think everyone should be entitled to their own beliefs whatever other people may think, after all, everyone of us is different arent we?
Mega, your friend says they wouldnt be a true friend if they didnt point out these things to you, but wouldnt a true friend accept you and your beliefs and not try to downplay them and force what they believe onto you?
I hope I havn't upset anyone but isnt it always the same when people start talking about religion hehe, its caused wars after all.

I suspect that what my friend is really doing is trying to confirm his own beliefs through me It is like he is trying to convince himself that what he does and believes is right, and if he says it enough times to me it will make him feel stronger. If he could get me into his way of thinking then he would truly believe that he is right on this, but he will never do that. I have had far too much evidence of an afterlife now, to ever be swayed any other way. I was thinking on the way home while listening to the radio. Radio waves are invisible, microwaves and also air is invisible, but just because we cant see them does not mean they are not there! If you look for long enough you can see your aura, and they say if you look for even longer you can see your guide. None of these things were apparent at first, but they are there. I am going to my second visit to a circle tomorrow and you try stopping me! lol

hi again mega,
Its great news that you are going for another session at the circle.... pleased to hear it. People with our beliefs are open to such scepticism its unbelievable. I applaud you for sticking to what you believe in, good for you. I think alot of people out there want to believe but are too afraid. Stick with it,
